Stepping up for suicide prevention

This September is transforming into Steptember as the Hope Street Xchange and St Peter’s Gate teams are challenging themselves to support the If U Care Share Foundation’s ‘Inside Out’ campaign.

September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day and office tenants at both of the University’s business centres are being encouraged to wear an item of clothing inside out to show that there is always a way and it often starts with getting what’s on the Inside, Out.

Alongside this, the Hope Street Xchange and St Peter’s Gate teams are starting their Steptember challenge where they are collectively aiming to achieve 500,000 steps over the course of the week commencing 7 September 2026.

The team will be stomping around the place trying to make every step count as they try to raise awareness and support for this very important cause which is close to their hearts. Across the two business centres, the teams are encouraging people to donate to the Just Giving page in order to support If U Care Share’s range of services to prevent, intervene and also support those bereaved by suicide.
