St Peter’s Gate would like to warmly welcome our latest tenant Holding-Hands (North East) CIC. Created in 2022, Holding-Hands are dedicated to empowering diverse and marginalised communities, particularly new migrants, women, young people, and vulnerable individuals across the Northeast. Their work goes beyond support as they help people navigate complex systems, overcome barriers, and build confidence to thrive.
Holding-Hands specialise in:
- Supporting migrant families through integration, language, and system navigation
- Building trust with communities who often feel excluded or unheard
- Delivering 1-to-1 support, youth programmes, and community interventions
- Providing high-quality Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and cultural awareness training
Holding-Hands have been able to add their own insight into their work by drawing on their own experiences. “We understand that challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, and lack of trust in systems can prevent people from accessing the support they need”, director Jennifer Orji says.
This has led Jennifer’s team to adopt the mantra of “trust is not given – it is built, especially for those who have experienced systems that failed them”.
Jennifer explains how St Peter’s Gate has signalled the start of a period of growth for the business. “Since moving into St Peter’s Gate, Holding-Hands CIC has found a truly supportive and inspiring environment to grow our work”, she says. “The welcoming staff team and collaborative atmosphere have made it easy to settle in, while also opening doors to connect with like-minded organisations.”
“We look forward to building meaningful partnerships and creating lasting impact together.”
